“Girls can do anything a boy can and more!”
So says the spirited heroine of Anne of Green Gables played by Amybeth McNulty in the new Netflix adaptation of the novel.
Netflix is adding to the list of adaptations of L.M. Montgomery’s beloved coming-of-age book series. The eight-episode Netflix series will guide audiences through the first book. The trailer does not shy away from showing major plot details of the novel. The trailer illustrates key moments like the town’s initial dismissal of Anne, her budding friendship with Diana and that satisfying moment when Anne smacks Gilbert with her chalk slate for calling her “Carrots.”
Anne is already streaming in Canada and will debut in the U.S. on May 12.

Cautiously excited for the Netflix reboot of Anne of Green Gables. It better be good. I only have room in my heart for one Gilbert Blythe...
