Netflix is dealing with a serious hacker issue after an anonymous person claimed to be in control of the unreleased episodes of the hit streaming series Orange is the New Black.
Whoever the hacker is, they claimed on Twitter to have episodes 2 through 10 of the fifth season and leaked it on Saturday, April 29. Along with the announcement came links to files that were supposedly the pirated episodes available for download.
There was also a threat made to leak other shows from Netflix, saying this was due to the company not paying to keep the content from being leaked. The hacker wrote, “You’re going to lose a lot more money in all of this than what our modest offer was.”
According to USA Today, they were not able to verify the authenticity of the claims.

In a statement, Netflix said “We are aware of the situation. A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved.”
