Hollywood pays tribute to Brad Grey, former Paramount CEO who died at 59

Brad Grey, the former chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, died at age 59 on May 14 after battling cancer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grey just only recently left Paramount back in February after 12 years of being with the studio.

Those in Hollywood who knew him paid their respects, including director James Gunn. He wrote on Twitter that Grey “was always good to me, in the small passing moments we had.”

Current Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos made a statement saying, “I was proud to call Brad a friend and one I greatly admired. He will be missed by us all and left his mark on our industry and in our hearts.”

Grey was also an executive producer of The Sopranos, of which he obtained two Emmys for best drama series and he also was a recipient of four Peabody Awards.

He leaves behind his wife, Cassandra and their son Jules, as well as three children from his previous marriage.
