Miley Cyrus talks quitting weed and refalling for Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus covers the May 13 issue of Billboard, in which she talked about quitting smoking, refalling for fiancé Liam Hemsworth and making new music.

The new music she spoke of would drop on May 11, when Miley's first single, "Malibu," debuts from her album that's set to be released later this year. The 24-year-old wrote the song, as she was in an Uber on her way to film The Voice.

At the time she said, "I was trying not to sing out loud because someone else was in the car."

The singer, who reconciled with actor Liam Hemsworth last year after breaking up in 2013, wrote the pop-rock single about him.

With the media speculating on their relationship, Miley said, "So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, 'This is how I feel?'"

The "Wrecking Ball" artist was also candid about their time apart.

"Suddenly you’re like, 'I don’t recognize you anymore.' We had to refall for each other," she said.

Liam was not the only one who inspired Miley with her new music. She also cited folk singer Melanie Safka and Kendrick Lamar as influences. Miley praised the latter's new music as showcasing how to treat women as she transitions to the next chapter in her own music.

Dolly Parton's goddaughter also wanted to take advantage of her time as the coach of The Voice with country music superstar Blake Shelton.

"The fact that country music fans are scared of me, that hurts me," Miley confessed.

While the singer didn't see anything wrong with the Robin Thicke/MTV Music Awards/twerking time period, the new Miley has changed some things and even quit smoking weed.

"I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now!" Miley said. "That was just something that I wanted to do."

The bottom line? Miley's evolving and she just wants to surround herself with smart people, who can evolve with her.
