Armie Hammer and James Woods battle over 'Call Me By Your Name' on Twitter

Call Me By Your Name

The feud began when James Woods publicly started dissing Armie Hammer’s critically acclaimed new film Call Me By Your Name — which doesn’t come out for another two months and is already getting Oscar buzz (and we can’t wait to see it).

The film is about a homosexual romance between a 17-year-old graduate student and a 24-year-old college professor, who Hammer portrays.

Woods took to Twitter to criticize the age gap:

The NAMBLA hashtag refers to the North American Man / Boy Love Association, a group that is advocating for pedophilia to be legal in the United States.

Hammer quickly responded with an end-all-be-all response:

This is referring to Woods’ six year long relationship with Ashley Madison in 2007 — when Woods was 59 years old and Madison was 19. In 2013, after breaking up with Madison, Woods then began dating 20-year-old Kristen Bauguess when he was 66.

Amber Tamblyn — actress who appears in 127 Hours and a re-appearing character in Two and a Half Men — also jumped in, responding to Hammer’s reply by saying:

Woods later responded by denying the claims against him:

However, he also later admitted that he was a fan of Armie Hammer’s work and tried to write the rest off it off to internet trolls:

Armie Hammer has not responded since his initial tweet.
