Ranked: Grammy-Nominated Music Videos

The Grammy Awards are back this Sunday,  January 28. While many people have their eye on categories like the Best Rock Song, we are paying especially close attention to the Music Video selections.

Kendrick Lamar "Humble."This year’s Grammy nominees are both powerful and striking. This is not really surprising -- 2017 was a highly political year, which renewed public light on long-standing and hard-fought crusades for social justice.  A testament to the power of this year’s nominees, this climate is apparent in the art. As the incomparable Nina Simone said, “You can't help it. An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times.” Happily, we see that in action here.

We will be alongside audiences everywhere, as we await announcements of the final award winners. In the meantime, we took a long look at these works of art and came to our own conclusions. Here we have the five Grammy-nominated music videos of 2017, ranked.
