Caroline Sunshine, already famous for her work with Disney, has landed a press assistant job to the White House Press Office after finishing an internship there.
The Orange County, California native deviated from the entertainment industry to pursue other passions, namely politics.
Sunshine has most notably appeared alongside Zendaya as Tinka Hessenheffer in Shake It Up, the Disney Channel series that aired from 2010 to 2013.
Other works she's been in are Marmaduke, The Outfield, and Lifetime's, Mommy, I Didn't Do It. With a resume like this, one would think she would turn out to be like Miley Cyrus.
Although the 22-year-old has the credentials to take the position, let's be honest here, there are more rules to the game for press assistant Sunshine than Tinka Hessenheffer.
White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters told CNN, "Caroline Sunshine was a White House intern. In college, she was involved with the American Enterprise Institute and an active member of her school's Model United Nations team. Prior to her internship at the White House, Caroline interned for the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the College Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party."
President Donald Trump (also formerly on television) has hired others with a television background. CNBC host Larry Kudlow is now on the White House National Economic Council. The next national security adviser, John Bolton, was a Fox News analyst, according to CNN.

Graduating from Claremont McKenna College, Sunshine hasn’t acted since her junior year, in the Lifetime movie Mommy, I Didn’t Do It.
Excelling academically she impressed her managers in the communications department. Two slots opened up in the White House press shop, and so the Disney starlet went there.
As a press assistant, she provides clerical, administrative and operational support for the entire White House communications department. Now she joins a team that includes press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, three deputy press secretaries and three assistant press secretaries.
The press assistants send out White House news releases, organize the reporters at necessary locations, and arrange briefing calls, to name a few things. While it may not sound spectacular, it is certainly a tough job, and one with advancement, according to NPR.
The career will allow her opportunities that are bi-partisan. To note there are a plethora of networking opportunities, between Disney and the White House and it's possible that Sunshine will be notable in a different way in the years to come.
