Elton John turns 71 March 25: here are 5 things to love about him

Happy Birthday, Elton John! Thank you for being the Rock icon that you are!

Elton John was born March 25, in 1947 and turns 71 this Sunday.

He is one of the biggest musicians in the 20th century, blasting off in 1970 as an international superstar. Huge hits of his are notably Crocodile Rock, Philadelphia Freedom and Candle in the Wind.

Sir Elton John, knighted in 1998,  is also a Broadway vet, Billy Elliot (2008), which won 10 Tony Awards.

He earned his spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 alongside The Animals, the Band, the Grateful Dead, Duane Eddy, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Rod Stewart, Willie Dixon and Johnny Otis

In addition, his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour starts September 8, 2018 and ends in 2021 and his Revamp album drops April 6, 2018.
