'God of War' enhanced for 4K on PS4

God of War

God of War is arriving for your PlayStation 4 and it's coming with a performance mode.

In a recent Twitter Q&A with the creative director of the game, Cory Barlog, it was announced that even though the game is enhanced for players who own 4K televisions, those who don't can still get the full experience with the performance mode.

A fan asked if he needed to upgrade to the PS4 Pro, which is $100 more than a regular PlayStation, but Barlog said he didn't have to.

In the tweet, Barlog says that the "4k is AMAZING," but the performance mode for those who don't have 4K or a PlayStation 4 Pro still "makes the game run so so smooth."

Another fan on Twitter followed up asking if the "so so smooth" meant that the game runs at 60 frames per second, the smoothest format for gameplay, but Barlog avoided the answer.

Basically, the avoidance of the answer makes it seem like God of War won't run at 60 frames per second.

But, the gameplay looks amazing on YouTube and looks like an absolute blast.

Lucky for gamers, there's no need to upgrade their system or TV to 4K. Especially when a 65-inch 4K TV costs upwards of $450.

God of War will be released on April 20, 2018. You can pre-order from Amazon or Gamestop.
