"How could you be so heartless?"
John Legend personally texted Kanye West after a string of tweets from the rapper in support of Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, Kanye tweeted out a series of thoughts including his support for President Donald Trump.
You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.

Kanye wrote, "You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him." He also tweeted out a photo of his signed Make America Great Again hat.

Many fans and celebrities were quick to criticize Kanye, but one person did reach out in support of the rapper.
Thank you Kanye, very cool! https://t.co/vRIC87M21X

In the text, Legend tells Kanye to reconsider aligning with Trump since many feel betrayed that he would do that considering some of Trump's policies are harmful to people of color.

Legend followed up saying "think freely. Think with empathy and context too."
Kanye tweeted out that he stands his ground.
Fans are applauding Legend for stepping up and advocating for the fans and for siding with empathy. Though, some were confused why he didn't tweet or comment online. Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen, had a response to that.
Everyone keeps asking me to comment on shit. Comment on psycho Tami Lasagna, whom I refuse to give the joy to, say something about RHOA, speak up about kanye. When it comes to people we know, we DO speak up. To THEM. not on Twitter. And sometimes, I guess it makes it to Twitter.

John Legend did take to his Twitter to explain his position on the subject. He thinks artists, whom millions of fans look up to, can't be "blind to the truth."
I love that great, brilliant artists have the power to imagine a better future. But artists can't be blind to the truth.

At least Funny or Die was having fun with the exchange.
