President Barack and Michelle Obama rooted their legacy as involved members of societal discourse through the lens of the President’s two terms in office and beyond.

And on Monday, Netflix announced that the Obamas will be disseminating some of the experiences they found fascinating from public service through the vehicle of storytelling.

The Obamas will be producing a blend of content, including things like scripted and unscripted series, documentaries, docu-series and even features. All of these series will be made available to the 125 million-member Netflix households in 190 countries worldwide.

“Barack and I have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us, to make us think differently about the world around us, and to help us open our minds and hearts to other,” said Michelle Obama in a Netflix press release.

The Obamas established themselves as two of the most influential figures in society and in culture. And Netflix is excited to provide them with an extended platform to use the gift of storytelling to share more of what the Obamas believe will provide more empathy, understanding and create open hearts.

“Barack and Michelle Obama are among the world’s most respected and highly-recognized public figures and are uniquely positioned to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities and strive to change the world for the better,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a press release.
