“Where Everyone is a Featured Creator"
After many years of disappointing experiences at Vidcon, Tana Mongeau has taken matters into her own hands and created her own convention called TanaCon. It will be open during VidCon on June 22 and June 23 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites.
In an hour-long YouTube video, Mongeau spoke about her time at various VidCons. She went into detail about how she was mistreated by security and was never considered a "featured creator."
According to Mongeau, and seen on multiple spectator's YouTube videos, she wasn't given a "featured creator" pass which would have given her access to secure walkways. This forced her to walk through the crowds and be mobbed by fans.
Then in 2017, security kicked out the 19-year-old after blaming her for causing the mobs.
TanaCon's “Where Everyone is a Featured Creator" convention will feature over 100 creators and special guests such as Bella Thorne, Chris Klemens and Corinna Kopf.
please don't think that speaking up, telling the truth, going against the big dogs, and creating a voice for the under dogs will always go unheard. your stories matter, and if you believe in yourself enough, you can make change. i'm so emotional toward all of this

Vidcon has acknowledged their competition and apologized for any wrongdoings in the past.
Our goal at VidCon is to celebrate and lift up the online community and create a space where people feel welcome and safe. We take accountability for the areas we need to improve and hope to get better year after year.

Do you think Tana Mongeau will forgive them? Should she forgive them?
