Westworld renewed for season 3

Westworld has become one of HBO's most popular series over the past few years and it seems that the park will be staying open.

HBO announced Tuesday that they would be renewing Westworld for a third season just days after the second episode of season two aired.

Season 2 premiered on April 22 and was watched by 2.1 million people. This was an improvement on the average 1.8 million viewers the show got during its first season.

HBO programming president Casey Bloys is very excited to see where the next chapter of Westworld will take us.

“It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew." From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us.”

Westworld premiered back in October 2016 and follows a futuristic western theme park where people can interact with robot hosts. Season 2 is focusing on the robots revolting against the humans and how all of the stories are coming together.

The show has an outstanding cast including Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Ed Harris Jimmi Simpson and Ben Barnes.

Westworld airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. only on HBO.
