New animation 'Disenchantment' by Matt Groening is coming to Netflix

Disenchantment

Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, is teaming up with Netflix to release a new show.

On Thursday, June 28 Netflix posted a teaser trailer to YouTube the new cartoon Disenchantment. Disenchantment will be available on Tuesday, August 17 and the first season will have 10 episodes.

Groening has already made the two prior animation hits so expectations for Disenchantment have set the bar high. And it looks fantastically hilarious!

Set against the backdrop of a medieval world, the show will have the great humor Groening brings to any of his works. Also, since Groening has already tackled both the future and the modern age in his prior two works, he's decided to poke fun at the past.

A synopsis has been released stating, "In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools."

The trailer doesn't unveil too much about the show other than it's set in amongst an antiquated Dungeons and Dragons society where Princess Bean, played by Abbi Jacobson, meets her kingly father, with of course a wisecrack in it.

Billy West, who was in Futurama will voice some of the show's characters since he previously played the part of Dr. Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth and Fry. Also, anyone who is a fan of the robotic alcoholic Bender, played by John DiMaggio will be happy to know he's included too, according to BGR.

Disenchantment is definitely being waited upon eagerly by fans of both Futurama and The Simpsons, and probably by a lot more than just the fans since rather than having to catch it on air, it will be available via Netflix.
