‘Big Brother 20’ recap: ‘Who won the 1st Power of Veto?’

Day 9 inside the Big Brother house. Tyler hopes that this power doesn’t mess up his HOH. Sam’s spirits have been raised since she has the power app. The FOUTTE alliance wonders who got the power app. Faysal tells the house he was the least trending and got the crap app. Steve pretty much knows he has to win the Power of Veto to keep himself safe.

Sam has some trust in Tyler and she decides to tell him that she has the power app. I like Tyler’s game so far. He is a member of the Level 6 alliance but also has good relationships with the rest of the house. I think he ultimately wants Sam to stay and it seems like Steve is his primary target this week.

Swaggy C continues to try and control the house as usual as he tells Tyler that he should target Angela if the POV changes nominations. Tyler doesn’t seem as receptive and obviously, Swaggy C goes to tell his girl, Bayleigh the bad news. This obviously makes her upset.

I wouldn’t have told her.

Swaggy C then continues to hurt her feelings by suggesting that maybe that should distance themselves. Bayleigh becomes the next cryer this season and goes to talk with HOH Tyler. Tyler tries to assure her that if she does go up this week, she is just the pawn and is totally safe. She obviously isn’t happy about it and doesn’t think it’s fair. Bayleigh is quickly becoming one of my least favorite HGs.

It’s time to pick players for the first POV competition of the summer. HOH Tyler will play along with nominees Sam & Steve. Swaggy C, Scottie and Faysal are the other three participants. I personally would like to see someone with the POV and change the nominations so Bayleigh would go up on the block. Tyler has assured Steve that he is safe, even though he wants to see Steve go home.

Side Note: Faysal’s hamazon punishment looks very enjoyable.  He must eat the entire delivery of ham before he can go to sleep. This definitely doesn’t make me want ham anytime soon.

It’s time for the first POV competition. This competition takes place in five stages at the VimeBro Studios. The worst performer of each round is eliminated. The first round involves picking out likes from the snake bite pit. Most of the house seems terrified of snakes, especially Tyler.  Scottie is the first one eliminated.

Stage 2 involved jumping into an ice bath which cools off Swaggy C and eliminates him. Stage 3: they must stand on posts while being shot by paintballs. Steve is the next one out.

Stage 4 involves shock collars and carrying the like balls across the platform. Sam is the next one out and it comes down to Tyler & Faysal for the veto. They have a quick chat and Tyler agrees to throw it to Faysal. He makes it look convincing as stage 5 involves them trying random drinks and matching them. Faysal dominates this and wins the first POV of the summer.

I would like to see Faysal use the POV but I don’t expect it to happen.

The first Veto Meeting of the summer has a brief pause for Faysal’s latest hamazon delivery. I wonder how much ham he has eaten during the first week of the game. Faysal decides not to use the Power of Veto. I expected this and Steve is obviously bummed and hopes it all works out. Not looking good for you Steve. Bayleigh becomes even more annoying knowing that she is safe for the week. Sam doesn’t want to have to use power app during the first eviction and I have a feeling that she won’t have to.

Who will be the first houseguest evicted from the BB house….Sam or Steve?

Find out on the next new episode of Big Brother this Thursday night at 9 p.m. only on CBS.
