Yesterday, users reported glitches and other issues with Pokémon GO that came from their ties with Google Cloud.
Users reported widespread outages while playing Pokémon GO, but more than just the augmented-reality mobile game was affected. Niantic made a statement yesterday on Twitter:
We're aware of a technical issue causing an outage for both Pokémon GO and Ingress. Stay tuned for more information, and thanks for your patience as we investigate. @PokemonGoApp @ingress

Discord, the communication and streaming platform, reported server issues along with Snapchat and Spotify. Some of the issues were minor—a friend of mine complained of not being able to use Snapchat’s sticker selection—but others like the glitches in Pokémon GO rendered the app unusable.
Since then, Google Cloud has apparently returned to normal. Google reports a fix for the issue, as do Discord and Niantic. Service is running smoothly, so go ahead and hit the pavement, trainers!
