'Titans' trailer debuts at Comic Con

DC Universe has dropped the first trailer for Titans at San Diego Comic Con this morning, which promises to be “a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise.”

The trailer heavily features Brendon Thwaites as a forlorn Dick Grayson AKA Robin, who, unlike his esteemed mentor, does not hesitate to use guns and kill for his cause. As if the DC world couldn’t get any darker, Robin makes very clear that he’s not your parents’ Boy Wonder with the words: “F—k Batman.”

The trailer also features Teagan Croft as Raven, a young woman with psychic-adjacent powers. The bond between Robin and Raven appears as a central element to the show, but we also catch a glimpse of Anna Diop as Star Fire and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, two other members of the Teen Titans.

Titans will be streamed over DCUniverse.com to subscribers, along with the upcoming Titans spinoff, Doom Patrol. Preordered yearly memberships to DCUniverse will cost $74.99, but monthly memberships will cost $7.99 at launch.

Titans is scheduled to premiere later this year.
