Alf eyed for reboot

Warner Bros. is looking to reboot iconic 80s sitcom Alf.

According to TVLine, Warner Bros. is searching for a writer to lead the reboot. For now, we do not know the involvement of Paul Fusco, original co-creator, writer, director and executive producer as well as the voice and puppeteer for the title character.

Alf, short for Alien Life Form, was a…well, an alien life form who came to Earth and was adopted by the Tanner family. Alf ran for four seasons and over a hundred episodes, eventually wrapping up in 1990. Variety reports that one idea in the works is for Alf, who was captured by the Alien Task Force in the original finale, to leave Area 51 and marvel at how the world changed since his capture.

A message ran at the very end of the original airing of the series finale: “To be continued….” That turned out prophetic, didn’t it?
